  • Vis- rust color, heavy sediment in bottle.

Nose- musty, dusty, funky. Funk never went away even after dust blew off the nose.

Palate- tang, subdued fruit. Opened up to dirty socks, cherry.

Way past its prime, very funky but still fun to try one this old.

  • A little less impressive this time when put up against some big boys in a blind tasting. Definitely over the hill, the tomato is pronounced on the finish, and the fruit is pretty muted at this point. I still find it tasty, but I was in the minority in our tasting group.

  • Oof! Sorry you had a bad bottle J! We had a second at a blind tasting as dessert and it was great again. Just infinitely interesting. The herbal notes are definitely more prominent. The wine is clearly on the downhill side of things, but still extremely enjoyable, esp for those who enjoy the "non-fruit" flavors. I'm planning on finishing these over the next few months and will continue to update these notes as I do so...

  • I got excited when I saw Eliot's review but I could have mixed this with some olive oil and poured it over my salad. Destroyed.

  • I had to do some cork gymnastics because our waiter broke it.
But once the bottle was open, Wow! Dark red with some bricking around the edges.
Great cherry, plum, pomegranate, cinnamon and curry on the nose.
Attack is sour cherry and pomegranate blending into a spice rack from the mid-palate on.
Finish is long with nutmeg and cinnamon lingering.
