A chewy taste of prunes and dates. Aromas of charred wood but mostly dense and ripe plum. Not a great wine but not a bad one. One to use on cookout days when guests demand wine in the heat and have no clue why I am making a face. This one has the body to survive those tasting conditions without making you feel like your are throwing it down the drain. Score:89. Relative to expectations: -

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of saddle leather, tobacco, brown spices and mixed berries. Flavors of tangy raspberries, sweet berries and sweet cherries. Medium to bright acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with a little air or hold. I'd lean towards drink now. I have a feeling this one won't really improve with more time in bottle.

Weekly tasting group RWP: Really Special Wines (@ DJ): Dark and red berries in the bouquet. On the palate ripe red berries, ok acidity and soft tannin. A mature and fairly complex wine. I am not that negative. Beautiful wine and completely ready now.

Drank from magnum. Just a lovely example of a mature grenache wine. Lots of fruit and lovely soft earthyness. very clean fruit profile which surprised me. I was not sure if this would show signs of scorched fruit from this vintage, but luckily no.

This hot mess of a wine is raisin/prunes in alcohol. Dead palate by Parker on this one.
