  • A blend of organically farmed Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Sangiovese aged in stainless steel, the rest varieties in French oak barriques. 13,5% alcohol.

Very evolved and almost fully opaque dark mahogany color. Tertiary and somewhat pungent nose with aged, slightly oxidative aromas of soy sauce, some gamey meat, a little bit of hoi sin, light oxidative notes of roasted chestnuts, a sweet hint of raisin and a touch of smoke. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and quite oxidative on the palate with flavors of pungent soy sauce, some sour cherry bitterness, a little bit of old leather, light sweet notes of wizened red fruits, light salty notes of beef jerky and a hint of earth. The wine is quite high in acidity with still rather firm and grippy tannins. The finish is dry, long and somewhat oxidative with flavors of beef jerky, some sour cherry bitterness, a little bit of campfire smoke, light mineral notes of sun-baked gravel and a hint of consommé.

Past its peak. It doesn't feel like this hasn't been particularly memorable a wine in its youth and it obviously hasn't had much stuffing to it, seeing how oxidative it has gotten in only 13 years. Still somewhat drinkable, but not particularly enjoyable anymore. Leaving the wine unrated.

  • Nice wine, nothing spectacular. Faint red fruit nose with graphite and some leather, it pleases with light cherry and cranberry fruit on a silky frame. Chalky leather nuances emerge along with notes of black cherry on the medium dry finish. Good with food, overall, just doesn't hit the next level to be great. Drink now or soon before fruit fades too much, doubt it will improve anymore. Stored in temp controlled cellar since purchase.

  • Red fruit, short finish with some cherry notes evident. This is a mediocre wine and is fine with "light" italian, i.e., pizza, pasta, meats and cheeses.

  • I wonder if I'm being generous with my score. There are no obvious technical flaws, but this wine is much too light and angular to be given a higher score. I don't believe it has what it takes to age into anything better, either, unfortunately. Disappointing for this producer.
