Light lemon color. Fine spritziness blew off after about a half an hour. Caraway, ripe apple, and a very attractive slaty element as well. Decidedly off dry on the palate but good acidity and the slate backbone help it from seeming too much a dessert wine.

Still showing sweeter than I would have expected or even remembered for this wine. It's clearly still a baby for those than like to have that sugar integrate. The sugar didn't allow this to have that sort of grace that I associate with their wines. A nice Riesling but didn't step above that on the night. I'd leave it be and would guess it's in an awkward state.

(SCHAFER-FROHLICH Kabinett Estate) 2007 Schafer-Frohlich Dear Friends, This portfolio needs little introduction. Tim Frohlich has maneuvered his way to the top of the Nahe heap in a very short time and he is now known in local circles (tongue in cheek) as the Master of Bockenau (although he's actually quite modest and would be embarrassed by this title). His deft hand with the dreamy style of Nahe Riesling seems to be unmatched at the moment and even Donnhoff recognizes how skilled this vintner's connection with the terroir is. In a short nutshell - 2007 was a top-tier Kabinett vintage and this is priced to allow consumption at any time - certainly now but also to cellar several bottles for future experimentation - it's an absolute steal at this tariff. I don't have access to any on-line reviews but I'm sure this was highly thought of by the press - if I recall, the 2007 Schafer-Frohlich portfolio was the single highest rated portfolio in all of Germany by Joel B Payne in Tanzer's IWC. Regardless of score or acclaim, you will not go astray adding this beautifully made wine to your collection... ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price with impeccable provenance VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the tariff and vintage: 2007 Schafer-Frohlich Riesling Kabinett (Estate) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ6533
