A well cellared bottle, showing beautifully. Deep green gold. A bouquet of tinned peach, quince, green apple, jasmine, tinned pineapple and honeycomb with a touch of sewing machine oil. Also a little oxidised with lanolin and creamy notes. This wine is all about texture. In the mouth, nicely glycerol and viscous, quite oily and waxy. Tactile. Beeswax, quince, pear, pineapple and fallen yellow apple with something more savoury, perhaps field mushrooms and certainly lanolin. Weighty and tannic. Lower acidity. By the second evening it had lost a little of its shape and freshness of the night before. If you want any primary fruit character at all to this wine, it's a 'drink soon' proposition. In future, I must remember to keep the occasional Rhône blanc like this for 10+ years, rather than consuming them all in the first 3-4 years.

Fairly golden colored. Relatively lighter than expected green apple, quince slightly oily flavors, almost tending to a slightly oxidized finish. Holding well, but a bit uninspiring.

Sadly, this was well past its due date. Pretty golden color, but a subdued nose and a heavily oxidized flavor. Even cheese couldn't save it.

Sharp and tangy apple flavors. touch of cream. Tiring, but still nicely drinkable.
