Scent of fresh tart red berries and rathe transparent ruby color suggests the Pinot Noir varietal. Palate of red fruit, with concentrated fruit flavors, and good integration of what appears to be 1-2 year French oak or a mixture of new and old, suggests a sorting table for ripe fruit and thus a reliable and better than average producer. Alcohol is moderate, suggesting the old world, and a cool climate. What little residual sugar is in the wine is balanced by the tart acidity. The wine's fresh tart red fruit scent and palate suggest stainless steel to lock in the flavors bore aging in above-described oak. The restrained nature of this wine suggets Pinot Noir's home in Burgundy France rather than other areas where Pinot Noir is grown and appears typical of this area. The more 'feminine' aspects of this wine, the red rather than dark hued color, transparency, suggest the Cote de Beane and again bright freshness of the wine - combined with integrated oak - suggests a wine less than five years old.

  • Took a while to open up. Simple, but some nice spice and smooth.
