Having had a 2007 Marcassin a few months ago, and establishing the it needs little to no air, this one was a PnP. Cork did it's job enabling the passing of air, though some might suggest the cork was dry. I tried with usual waiters corkscrew, but if I was to have pulled/leveraged it, the center would have crumbled. So, engaged the always trusty Durand.
No flaws Again, from last experience, will not keep anything overnight, as last time, experienced eucalyptus taint for my first ever time.
Usual Pinot character.
(This seems more Burgundian and likely would be a difficult detection within a blind tasting.)
Pale Garnet, (1/4 inch Tawny edges)
Black gardening loam Forest floor Dried mushrooms
Body medium full Alcohol high Acid medium high Viscosity. Tongue fully enveloped mouth feel Tannins Finish long 60s+
Drink up if you've got this. It's not getting better. I'd buy as much as I could, with a recent vintage.
PN 100% 14.1 abv
Lasagne - greasy and cheesy and meaty and messy. Perfect for a several hundred dollar Christmas treat!!!
PS Drink The Rainbow!

Decanted for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, cinnamon, cola and touch of herb. Flavors of dried cherry, plum, Asian spice, touch of hoisin sauce and touch of sarsaparilla. Ends with 35-40 seconds with cherry and asian spice notes. Tasting very young still. Probably at peak but not sure how long it will hold on. Good for the near future for sure.

Opened and let sit for 30 minutes or so. Perfect cork and fill. Medium red with a slight hint of browning at the edge. Complex nose of black raspberry, a hint of licorice, and spice; definitely on the black fruited end of the Pinot spectrum. Dark berries on the palate, high ripeness and intensity, some slight heat and tannins on the finish. High octane Sonoma Coast Pinot - was an excellent fit with Thanksgiving turkey with all the trimmings. Probably should be drunk as I don't see this improving.

Amazing wine, aging beautifully! Great delineation in this wine. Etheral, polished with cranberries, sour cherries, forest floor and light spice. Wonderful balance, very Burgundian.

Volatile acidity. The wine is imbalanced. Super ripe and smoked meats, forest floor, dried cherries, Asian spices.
