  • The wine was decanted for about an hour. There were aromas of cherry, fig, sweet baking spices with some dustiness. Unfortunately the volatile acidity began to dominate the nose as the wine opened up. The wine was still thoroughly enjoyable - just at the end of it's window.

  • Much more of what I was expecting from this wine. Rich, lush fruit with a heady nose. Where the last bottle was restrained, the fruit in this bottle was almost amped up. Just a bit of heat on the very long finish. Decanted and poured, unlike the last bottle which had a six-hour decant. The shorter decant may have been the trick. All good...except for the price. Still not sure it is worth it compared to some other options at half the price.

  • This had been decanted for a long time. An extremely interesting and complex wine. The palate was full of earth, game, mushroom and a little smoke which dominated the dark red fruit.

  • This was a solid wine, but that is not what you are paying for here. Very complex nose showing lots of secondary characteristics, but the fruit has faded and it lacks richness on the palate. May have let it decant for too long, but likely that this wine is on the decline.

  • Everthing about this wine is great. The nose screams out of the glass - tons of red fruit, maple, berries. A deep, dark pinot red. This is a 9 yr old pinot that is strong. In the mouth - refined, elegant and sophisticated. Burst of flavors when it hits. A solid, long finish. As much as any wine I have had this wine is Complete. Nothing lacking. 96+
