Cork turned to powder under that god awful wax cap, but the wine was surprisingly unaffected. This was a beauty on par with many Cayuse bottles we've had in the past. Signature "The Rocks" funk. Silky tannin. Long finish.

Echoing some of the previous comments - this is a silky, Syrah with no rough edges and great dark fruit; tannins have fully resolved and is drinking great right now with 1 - 2 hour air time. So glad I had saved this bottle for a few years.
Was not as good on day 2 but still enjoyable.

(K Vintners Syrah Phil Lane Walla Walla Valley) Nose has a lot going on with some classic Walla Walla gamey, meaty Syrah aromas. Elegant and smooth with violets on the taste. An excellent effort that is just short of a double star wine. 140 cases produced.

Such a rich fruity wine for a 2006... the edges have rounded out... and it is smooth as silk!
