Decanted and returned to bottle. Dense dark garnet. Notes of ashy-mineral, savory earth, blue violet, cassis & currant are highlighted throughout. On the palate this has opened nicely, showing a juiciness to the fruit to balance against powerful concentration. Weighty and polished with creamy tannins and long finishing notes of dark fruit and espresso. Very nice. Drink or hold.
V.I.P. Northwest Tasting (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had grilled meat and wet leaves, blueberry and stone, and some mushroom at the end. The palate was rich and thick, with meat juice and blueberry, stone and earth, and a good mush room finish.
