Dark smoky red color. Aromas of beet, black cherry, smoke, strawberry, and sous bois. On the palate, this shows a toasty barrel element, with black cherry, black tea, coffee, pine, beet, cranberry, and some strawberry. The finish is long. Some barrel bitterness emerges toward the end of the finish. Holds well in the glass and is seemingly in a good place right now. Entering peak maturity for my tastes. Drink or hold for the medium term.
