Drank over three days. On the first day the mid tones were closed and the wine mostly showed overripe red plums. Also the wine was a little hot. By the third day there were some nice sweet earth components and leafiness in the nose. The fruit was more balanced and the alcohol has integrated as well. Needs more time?

Hmm… looking back at my tasting note from October 2009, I'm wondering WTF? "Light?" No. At least not this bottle. Big, fruit-forward and anything but subtle. The alcohol seems more prominent here. Loads of red cherry, red current and red everything else. Not sure there is much evolution left, so drink now.

This is at the top of its game (her game actually!). If I had a half case or more, I would drink it on the bell-shape-curve. If i had only one bottle - I would drink it now.

(Spring Valley Vineyards Nina Lee Walla Walla Valley) Oak spices weave through black and blue fruit. Wow this is a thick wine! Extremely tightly wound at the moment, though showing anise and blackberry. A bit heavy on the alcohol at times. 100% Syrah. 15.6% alcohol. 1,000 cases produced.
(Spring Valley Vineyards Nina Lee Syrah Walla Walla Valley) A luscious nose loaded with fruit, including huckleberry, boysenberry and other black and blue fruit. Chocolate and anise threads wind throughout. A generous amount of tart fruit up front on the palate. 100% Syrah. 15.6% alcohol.

Juicy, plum, a bit of white pepper and roast meat. Mellow.

Great wine. Loads of life left and nice big fruit with a complex palate off earth, berties and coffee.
