  • Cream, plenty of sweet oak spice, slightly baked blackcurrant, a little eucalyptus, earth, leather, caramel and vanilla as well as a touch of alcohol prickle. In the mouth the fruit is quite muted and the tertiary notes are more dominant, the tannins are surprisingly soft. Hmm

  • From excellent provenance. Cork was immaculate. Decanted 30mins prior to serving. Reddy/brown in colour. Mocha, Cassis and cedar on the nose. The palate was again cassis, earth, milk chocolate, a touch of mint, leather and nuance of dried rosemary. The oak and tannin structure is almost fully resolved. The palate is still quite ‘plump’ with a very long finish. A real treat to try and it does not look like fading, it should easily make its 20th Birthday.

  • Still dark garnet in the glass with some bricking towards the edge. A very stong nose of primary fruits, dark cassis with some vanilla and chocolate. Full bodied and packed full of dark fruits on the palate and strong tannins. May be lacking a little in acidity to pull everything together as this is a big wine. Still needs a little more time maybe 2-3 years.

  • Well aged with developing red berry fruit on the nose and some noticable chocolate complexity. A touch fleshy. The palate very smooth with a chocolate milk character to it as well as the typical forest fruits. In really good nick.

  • NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2006 (David's place): Ruby red, strong medium intensity nose of ripe blackcurrants. Super fruity! Pleanty of ripe chalky tannins on the palate. Weight and depth to the fruit, with good balance along the palate. Not very exciting yet – needs to develop some interesting secondary notes to add that extra dimension. Looks good for the future.
