Monthly Tasting Group EEE #002; A mixed set from Europe (@ ??): The bouquet is still a bit locked, although there are yellow fruits. Mild start with some toasted oak. Yellow fruits like mango and pineapple. Some bitterness in the finish. The wine shows itself much better now compared to the one I drank in April 2010 and I wonder if it will even improve a bit more with a few more years of ageing.

Significantly better then the previous bottle I drank over a year ago. The wood isn't that dominant anymore, making this a far more balanced wine, with very fresh acidity and complex palate. Somewhat overly alcoholic though, but not disturbingly so

In fact a quite neutral wine. There are some yellow tropical fruits. There is some soft acidity. Medium bodied. I am not really impressed

Northern Rhone Visit, May 2009; 5/14/2009-5/17/2009 (Condrieu, Ampuis, Cornas, Tain -- France): Dinner at Reclusiere, Condrieu -- Next to the Cuilleron this showed heavy handed and more one dimensional, with candied pear and banana overtones. Very unctuous yet lacked freshness on the palate.
