Translucent red, no browning. Pepper and anise on the nose. Bit intense, dark fruited, plums, blackberries. Nothing subtle here. Fine tannins, sharp acidity, good balance. Finishes a bit short. Still Ok, but past prime. Drink up.

I decanted this for 2 hours in hopes that the alcohol previously noted would blow off and it worked. Nose has a little gamey funk which is probably the Mourvèdre. Dark plum and strawberry preserve with a big menthol blast across the palate. Fresh cut cedar aromas through a medium plus finish. For those still holding bottles, I don't believe there's a big rush to consume these, the structure is solid with fruit, acid, firm tannins still hanging around. Fun stuff.

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, raspberry and cloves. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry, oak, dusty and alcohol with a medium body. Coarse texture with a long finish.

Really enjoyable, in fact, I was only able to grab a small pour before it found its way around the room. The '06 is in a good place now. Balance is good with bright fruit, mellow soft tannis, and a medium smooth finish.
