  Open six hours before, and decanted 4 hours. Was surprised how integrated the tannin was. Blueberry, briny, mineral, great structure. Likely has another ten years of life.

  Stunning power. Incredible aromatic complexity as this unfolds in the glass. Needs a lot of air... otherwise this will taste up short.
  Italian espresso... darkest blueberries... rich meat jus... thyme... earth... blood. Subtly sauvage. Profound minerality underlying immense fruit tamed by proper acidity. Substantial heat from the alcohol. Still very young. Happy that I have a few more in the cellar that will wait... at least 5 more years.

  2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape tasting: Good amount of fruit left, rather bright acidity, some salty minerality, a touch savoury, a little bitter on the finish. It's got some horsey brett on the nose which gives it a little character. Definitely the best wine tonight QPR wise and a strong contender for wine of the night.
