Medium golden in color, it has taken up secondary musky, honeyed and slightly mineral aromas while retaining its apricot and tropical fruit. Also nice florality. Oak while integrated is noticeable as sweet vanilla spice but still with an elegant touch. On the palate it is ripe and fleshy with deep tropical fruit flavors and muskiness, great balance although perceived acidity is minimal. Very rounded texture but fluid at the same time. A nice refreshing bitterness on the finish. A great wine at its secondary phase with years ahead of it depending on taste.

Drank with Stefanos and John over the former's birthday lunch. Medium straw yellow. Fairly expressive nose with apricot, mango, floral notes and noticeable sweet oak. Medium to full-bodied retaining its freshness, with balancing acidity and a long aftertaste.

Cassoulet Dinner with Friends (Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand): Very worked Condrieu with a huge amount of new oak handling that adds a bracing structure, which combined with the great minerality of the wine adds up to a very serious wine that will age very well but for my taste brings little of the melon and white blossom character and fruit derived opulent mouth feel that I prize in Condrieu. Certainly an outstanding wine but not typical. The oak and minerality worked against a coherent match with a Parsnip and Pear soup.

Very fine - alcohol is noticable - just a touch fire-y. The oak has integrated over the past couple of years and this looks likely to age well for the next few years.

I tasted this wine again more than one year ago and now it seemed even more exuberant and overwhelming with the exotic perfumed Viognier aromas. Probably the greatest Condrieu I've ever had.
