We have been lucky to have tried this a few times over the last 5 years or so ( Papies (91-93 and one flat bottle) and on this occasion was at its best. Griot wines take for ever to develop and finally this one is now getting to full stride. Earthy, round polished , well mannered and elegant like a proper Burgundian wine should be. 92-93 and very good finally.

A very nice wine on the dark and rustique side. Earthy with some va, dark wild raspberries and balsamic notes along with some overripe strawberries. Medium acidity, medium+ tannins.

This is the second bottle of the same batch we have tried in one month ( Papies 93 and drunk beautifully) and frankly was very different wine, tight, less evolved and Nicol who tried this blind said this was new world with a cab sauv element. Very strange and not better than a 91 but really lacked a bit of a charming side. Weird.

This is now in its proper drinking window and just drinks very beautifully. Soft and elegant, true Burgundian style , restraint but also very giving. Good fruit, soft earthy feel and very classic and classy true to the quality of both pedigree and terroir.93 and with a good decade in the tank albeit just delicious now

The wine this time was a dud. Flat and uninteresting and just with no charm or presence . We hope it’s just an off bottle and thus pointless to rate.
