  • Served directly. Nice mature hue, evolved borders. Nose of ripe black prunes and tobacco, behind some sap and smoke. Overall some evanescent iodin. Mouth is fresh elegant, crunchy, good depth on those prunes or matured cherries, ending long on orange bitterness. This a pure old europe style, mature and elegantly strutured. Blind tasting I would go for an old chateau-neuf without any alcohol trace. Excellent, and I think it is just after his peak: still the structure remains with bitterness and acidity, but the fruit is just about to turn from jam to a future bonish and transparent flesh ( at this moment the sap turns to minth and the wine become edgy with withered colors)

  • My last bottle. Northern Piedmont is so unique and these wines take a little time and experience to appreciate. Great stuff.

  • Very lively garnet red, still young.
Full red fruit, with earthy notes, tobacco, and floral aromas (roses, perhaps?), hint of nutmeg. Young, intense, very fine.
On the palate it is also very intense, juicy, well balanced. Tannins are fine grained, just a bit drying and well integrated. A pleasure to drink.
But it does come short of being outstanding.

  • Popped and poured. Medium garnet core, bricking rim. Revisited after just over two years and I can’t detect any material development. Black cherries, floral perfume, leather and oak spice on the nose and palate. Still very structured, but the fruit has held up nicely ensuring good balance. Well crafted and food friendly – will probably offer prime drinking for at least another five years. Wish I had more!
