Thanksgiving Weekend in Willamette; 11/26/2004-11/28/2004: Barrel and bottle tasting at Open House. Nicely floral to start with dense, concentrated fruit on both nose and palate. Good length with some interesting spice unfolding on the finish. slightly less hot than when I tasted this six months ago, I found this to be one of a favorite Willamtte 2003 Pinot Noir.

Two Days in Willamette; 4/22/2004-4/23/2004 (Willamette Valley OR): Barrel tasting. Aromatics are nicely perfumed with some good dark fruit. Palate shows black cherry, blackberry and then a hint of blueberry on the finish. Fruit's powerful frame holds up to the oak better than the others in the shea 2003 lineup, but the heat is a bit disorienting, mostly on the finish. I think this one has the best potential of the wines I tasted to become completely harmonious.
