Double decanted before pour. The 2007 Frederic Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles-St.-Jacques is dark ruby in colour with a light intensity nose of slight hoisin sauce, green stems and artificial red currants. The palate is rather unexciting with dark red currants flooding the mid palate with a lot of green stems and stalks. Tannins are considerably powdery. Rising back end alcohol on the medium (-) finish and rather linear.
