  limited experience with old ports, but this has a delicious nose, and is smooth, tasty, no pruniness or signs of fatigue. Mid way through a case I bought by mistake at auction for $30/btl. (I thought I was just logging on...) The corks are all breaking, but the wine is good.

  Hindsight being 20-20, 1982 was a year that saw a few producers choosing to declare instead of 1983. Decanted almost 9 hours, what started out as a very sweet VP has slowly changed to a drier profile with lots of leather, no shortage of violets, light tannins still peaking through, and dried cherries on the finish. The palate is showing far more mature than the dark ruby color, this is quite the enjoyable VP.
