Still a dark garnet. Smells like classic cabernet - cedar, cassis, tobacco, herbs, mint. There are developed aromas which continue on to the velvet, resolved and mid-weight palate. Delicious.

This is drinking at its peak I reckon! Seems to be much better than the bottle I had last year. Smooth, velvety, classic Coonawarra flavours of dark fruit, plums, leather, touch of earth, eucalyptus, long finish. Well integrated tannins, great balance.

(GoodFriday@theChans) [vertical w 2003] restrained nose with muted leather, ash and plums, needing time to reveal its power, and very much in similar vein to its 2003 sibling. Palate certainly much more structured, meaty and savoury, with cola nut, ink and soil, cassis gumdrops. Long lingering and dusty finish. The earthier of the two siblings, this bottle is at peak, but could still give for a few more years. Enjoyable, and classic coonawarra!

Lovely nose, colour was medium purple, palate was fruit forward, pepper, spices. Abit acidic, not much secondary characteristic surprisingly. Did not develop much over the night, was probably better early on. Might go for another 2 years.

Spicy. A bit monolithic, but opened up with time.
