  • Absolutely outstanding. Big juicy, carmelized dark fruit. Went well with the rib eye roast. Loved by all. Sadly drank along side a 2011 Linne Calado Overthinker and the Booker blew it off the tablet. My last bottle. Wish I had another case!!

  • The VA is noticeable and for the most part really distracting. Other aromas are leather, spice and red and black fruits. The sweetness of the alcohol is noticeable throughout the mid palate. When it comes to a big extracted style this is well made. The heat isn't overwhelming on the finish, instead there are lengthy tannins.

  • Opened this not realizing I had opened the '28' month version of the same only a couple of months ago . . . . Have to admit that there was not a lot of difference between the two; both showed as tremendously youthful with perhaps the regular bottling showing its alcohol a bit more (?).

Color: deep, nearly opaque ruby/purple -> deep, dark ruby rim. Highly perfumed bouquet of fresh flowers, vanilla, smoke, black cherries, Ouzo and earth. Palate showing super-rich and dense young black fruit (blackberries, black cherries), creamy vanilla, smoke and a little roasted meat. Texture is incredibly smooth and the finish is as long as the texture is silky with any tannins pretty much in hiding. The only concern would be that 15.7% alcohol which shows just a bit more than the '28' month version. Still have to admit that this wine still presents itself as very, very young.

  • Rich, powerful, low-acid. A good one to sip slowly.
