One of those rare lucky times when everything works out just right. Brought to a friend's housewarming, this being her birth year wine. I have only owned this for 4 years or so. No idea as to previous provenance. Yet this was the best it could have been. Fruit still intact, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry. Surprisingly dense. Tannins low but perfect. Sediment but less than I expected. Just so alive. Why did Napa ever stray from this style...
Drank this with my buddy Bob for his birthday. This bottle far surpassed my expectations. The fruit was suprisingly absolutely still there. The structure was still in place and of course the tannins were way mellow. I often bottles that are 30 years old can lead to heartbreak but that was certainy not the case here.

With MPL and BLR at Singer and Foy. Extremely dark, almost black, ruby color. Big dark chocolate nose-but shy and closed. Lovely wine on the palate-very smooth, rich and ripe. Excellent. 5-10-16-7: 88/100.
