Tasting Ground official tasting, 2007 Verite (Oinsocent): Vérité Le Désir is a Cabernet Franc-based blend that exudes high-toned aromatics, an iron graphite core and a pronounced minerality. Inspired by the iconic wines of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, Le Désir redefines Cabernet Franc from the New World, with layers of concentrated fruit, exotic spice and a plush sueded texture.
barrel aging: Aged 16 months in 100% new French oak varietal breakdown: 44% Cabernet Franc, 44% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec appellations: Alexander Valley, Bennett Valley, Chalk Hill, Knights Valley alcohol: 14.2%
-/- decanted 10.00 tasted 14.00 In the nose, the wine shows a spicy frame, herbal notes in the back, there is a nutty profile here that you don’t find in the other two, stalky freshness. In the palate, the wine shows balance, black currant, full body, tight tannins, coffee notes, chocolate, only a touch warm

The 2007 Le Désir was deeply colored and aromatic, centered on black cherries and creme de cassis. Lush, soft entry, yet remarkably complex. Impossible not to love this style of California red.

Great wine. So well balanced and in the sweet spot now. I would not hold to this on much longer .
