Big, dark, roasty aromas. Loam and mineral, cherries and crushed rocks. Very glycerol viscosity. This has all the big stuff with some hints of earth. Viscous dark cherry fruit, dried fruit nuances, and soft bitter tannins. Some earthy allspice notes. Oppulent. This is a bit gooey for me, but if you want some sweet sexy ripe fruit type stuff, this is a good deal. With help from Bordeaux's Bruno Prats.
(note: restasted, extracted, maybe not exactly gooey, good acidity and earthiness.)

Dark berry, blueberry-raspberry notes, licorice, meaty, complex berry basket; soft, medium rich but well-balanced; nice fruity vibrancy in a medium body, but with backbone. Outstanding and full of character.

Nice, ripe without being jammy, enough structure to make it better with a steak dinner. Not complex or layered, but enjoyable and easy. Questionable at the full boat retail, pretty great QPR at the closeout price of $15.

Powerful with bags of ripe blueberries, dusty and twiggy. Very Douro.
