Champagnes and Rieslings at Cutlery Optional: Golden colour. Oscillated between Chardonnay and Pinot but landed on the latter when the red fruit emerged with air. Similar impressions to before - oxidative house style was evident with integrated oak use, some hazelnut notes. Not normally a fan of CDG but this was harmonious with impressive length (and also not oxidised).

Part of a Champagne tasting where there were many fine wines. I liked the age and toastiness, but others wondered about pre-mix. I didn't see that and felt that it was winemaker style.

Dinner with Nick: Deep golden in colour. Guessed as a ‘96 house that had oak use, maybe Giraud. Oxidative with nutty notes. Fresher and had more acidity than the ’98 last month but would still have preferred more cut annd energy.
