PnP w/30 minutes decant. Clear w/slight bottom sediment. Deep dark purple color. Nice nose, med body, good integration/balance, long finish of soft tannins. Drink now. Nothing off.

Beautiful dark inky color. Nose of earth, leather and a hint of smoke . Big blackberry front end quickly followed by a good dose of spice tapering to a nice tannic finale. This wine takes you on a journey. Especially at this price point. Wish I had more.

Wow, what a find. Barnardo and Merlot blend, I believe it's a one-time bottling with some extremely talented winemakers that's showing well at 5 years, and should be spectacular at 8-10 years post-vintage. Tightly wound, but not overly tannic nor over-oaked, this blend is perfectly balanced with an opaque color, a palate of blackberry and date paste, and soft tannins backed by just the right amount of acidic structure. Could go 20 years, in my opinion. Bottle must weigh 4 pounds, and the label is a good enough reason to track this one down alone.

Popped and poured. Deep, inky purple. Initially, the nose was dominated by aromas of leather, earth and a touch of dried fruits. After about two hours it slowly unfurled to reveal a perfume of raspberry and spice. Medium-plus body, the flavors of blueberry, raspberry, and dried cherry are complimented by additional nuances of leather, black licorice, and expresso. The finish has length and is accented by the fruit and a green, herbaceous note. Chewy tannins are complimented by just enough acidity to keep this from feeling blowsy. Obviously made in modern style......yet at the same time rustic in presentation, no doubt due to the Bonarda. Hypothetically, this wine almost reminds me of a leathery Rosso di Montalcino blended with a spicy, modern Spanish Garnacha. Kept getting better in glass throughout the evening. Should improve with another 2-4 years.

Not to my liking especially for the price. Aromatic were too subdued and was forward and simple. Not a lengthy finish.
