Impromptu BYO Dinner (Le Zie, Chelsea, New York, NY): Because it was the coldest bottle we had available, we started with this fresh, crisp Pinot Gris, rather than the champagne. While not remarkable, this wine sufficiently whet the palate and paired well with our first course. The macaroni and cheese was excellent - who knew elbows could taste so good? The Pinot was not overpowered, but rather complemented the richness of the dish with grapefruit notes.
