A rather darkish copper orange color. Interesting nose of vanilla cream, butterscotch and orange rind. Taut and steely on the palate with oxidized flavors of orange peel, caramel and clove with good underlying acidity. The finish is dry and grippy with notes of minerals, grilled nuts and a tongue-on-rock sensation. This bottle is pretty ready now although these wines have a way of lasting and improving and this could get more complex in a few more years. A lot like an orange wine at this stage.

I was worried this might be oxidized but wow this was gorgeous. In my cellar since shortly after release. This was a medium lemon/gold yellow. The nose has dried pineapple, limestone and pear. On the palate it has mouth watering acidity, honeysuckle, pineapple, grilled apricot and a very saline finish. Just delicious.

Deep gold. Mature bouquet with pronounced barrel-aged aromas of honey, assorted nuts, apple pie, dried apricots, caramel, and arrack. The palate is dry, midweight plus, and bursting with energy. Intense flavours mirror the nose. Here's great tension, hold and sustain, that belies the wine's age and oxidative aromatic development. Could go for several years more. Outstanding stuff.

Nice round full flavored, but moderate acidity...apple and pear and a bit of caramel...this wine was a hit paired with an amazing fried Alligator with beet/rutabaga puree.

Oxidized just enough to not be terribly enjoyable. It was ok with an aged cheddar but...
