Absolutely delicious straight out of the gate with red and black berries, freshly turned soil and liquorice on the nose. Similar on the palette with a nice mineral finish. This bottle is punching well above its weight

I made a private note on my penultimate bottle, consumed in 09.2013, rating the wine very good plus. Then it looked younger, of course, than the decanted wine from this last bottle from a case, which had a darkish red core fading to a darkish brick-red with russet at the periphery. No sign of russet back then. This nosed ripe enough, but it didn't have any special quality about it. As with the previous bottle, the barrique was hard to miss an hour in and impossible another hour after that. ''Lightish body, acceptable ripeness, softened tannins and there's a sense of hollowness to it'' is what I recorded initially, but the palate improved, as I had expected it to, and it began to show fruit sweetness an hour later, when I thought it a very nice Medoc indeed. It was almost pointless to note that there was nothing rustic about it or the fruit being a simple enough, but I did so, because it reflected how I have felt about other Medoc Cru Bourgeois. However, despite the shortened length, I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the sweetness persisted until the very end. So, a very good plus wine, yet again.

I'm usually a Potensac fan (and a 2001 fan), but not this night. Some black plum fruit, a little cedar, not a lot of tannin but what is there is drying. Rather clipped finish. Representative bottle? C+/B-

From memory, this is a decent drink still holding up, and performing straight from the bottle.

Nog quite memorable. A bit austere and dry in the finish. Life left but not sure if will improve.
