Slow-ox 1 hr, tasted over 1 hr -nearly opaque dark red minimal bricking -heady warmth sweet jammy blackberry kirsch iodine -barely med acidity, thick viscous intensely bitter hot and piney that completely obscures any fruit or tertiary characteristics that might be underlying, like drinking a shot of pine-infused vodka, finishes with a bit of caramel and still quite a bit of tannic structure -very nice aromatics but virtually undrinkable

2007 Rhone Reds on a Saturday (Washington, D.C.): initially this had some smoky, stinkiness on the nose, but that blew off. good structure, dark fruits. good, but not too exciting.
