Served blind. Age, leather, earth, plummy, blackberry, sweet spice, cedar. Juicy, tight tannins, perhaps a smidge of residual sugar here, slight alcohol warmth, plummy and blackberry fruit, a little leather and earth. Pinot, NW, big...with this crowd i'll go with Central Otago and 2010

Raid Len's Cellar #10: Rhubarb and strawberry, with some stem - it is pretty but feels like it has good substance. Rich fruit but does have restraint and elegance. Good dimension and layers. Feels like a really complete wine that has upside from here.

Dark garnet, bright. Nose has some dark red berries, touch of smoke, some licorice. After about 30 mins of air the palate is smoothly textured, fine tannins good length, slightly dry on the finish. The fruit is still at the forefront of the wine, quite powerful and fresh, very young still. First bottle of Escarpment from this vintage I have tried and will leave the rest for a while longer before revisiting - will last longer than I originally anticipated and am sure will improve.

New Zealand Wine: London Annual Trade Tasting (Lords Cricket Ground): Rich dark fruit on the nose. Good fruit intensity on the palate with huge potential. Still along way to go - very young.
