  • nicely resolved brownish red. discreet, but pleasantly sweet bouquet of wilted roses, leather and oak, a bit reminiscent of barolo. on the palate, the fruits are mostly resolved, although there are some blackcurrants and plums present, followed by clay, sherry and oak. a touch jammy, but doesn't detract from the acidity that still carries it on, and complemented by soft yet ever present tannins.

a fully mature wine offering a lot of drinking pleasure at a reasonable price

  • Surprising that I am the first to rate this. I bought this at auction about a year ago. It's a producer and a wine that I always love, but I had some trepidation because of the age. I needn't have worried. I could tell from the nose that this was a rich and deep wine. In the glass there was dark black fruit and bramble. Beautiful acidity and still some very soft tannins left. Notes of dark orange and spice. A fully mature an integrated wine.

  • Red fruit (cherry), nice spice (5 spice), floral, minerality, strong acidity - a bit too strong, lingering finish, bright fruit, slight roundness. Really enjoyable.
