Drank with the series. Big fruit but bright acid and subdued tannins. By far best in the series to my palate today. Also drank a blend of the three wines (blended today) and it was not as interesting and a bit disjointed. Obviously married for 11 years or so made for a better blend.

Red Mountain Tour (Red Mountain, Washington): This nose is decadent and inviting showing chocolate, leather, brown sugar, and blackberry. It's complex and enjoyable. Soft tannins show all across the palate and soft, powdered chocolate plays lightly from beginning to end. The acidity rises on the mid palate and balances some lovely blackberry flavors while keeping things from becoming too heavy. Rich, heavy fruit lingers behind with acidity working hard to balance it all the way out. It works! Delicious!

Nicely balanced, big fruit, chocolate - a little heat at the end (mellows on day two).

Oaky nose, sweet, chocolate. Smooth, red, balanced, good age. Slightly simple. Medicinal notes. Faint sweet flavors, but dry finish. $30
