Ah yes, the joy of aged white Burgundy before the onset of Premox. This is fully mature but still vibrant with great complex flavors of hazelnuts, minerals and spices. Very silky and fine and deeply satisfying for a white wine.

The wine smells great, there is a seawater note and the more typical hazelnut and oil tones are in there too. The nose improves over 90 minutes or so that it was open. The palate is lacking focus and acidity though, and it just spreads out too much, doesn't anchor itself. It also improved, but never really go there. Enjoyable old wine and i would happily drink it again, but not a great example of an old Jobard Meursault.

Beginning of the Month Burgundies (Chez Panisse Cafe, Berkeley): Light yellow. After an initial burst of nutty richness, this wine reveals itself to be very much in the lean (almost Chablis-like) style of this producer. Still some match stick notes and the faintest hints of Meursault spice in the finish. It has held up over time but is unexciting in its lack of flavor dimension.

Seen better days. Oxidized nose and tired palate, dropped fruit.

Some petrol and yellow fruit on the nose. Palate is lean with a bitter finish.
