Screw the sauternes! I could drink these Auslese anytime after dinner for dessert. Fresh, light on its feet but loaded with complexity. I'd have drank more but it was the end of the night.

WTDS at The Kenwood With Some Older Gems (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): This was really good, showing a ripe succulent fruit profile, pineapple, kiwi, tropical fruit, a great acid profile; citrus and orange on the palate follows the nervy depth that resonates. Long finish. I could drink more of this.

Fantastic wine. Golden colour as I expect from a wine of this age. What I did not expect were the intense aromas of anise, officinal herbs, licorice and honey. There were also dry fruits (especially dry figs) and dry leaves scents, with a hint of gasolin enriching the mix. Sweet, but not cloying, it offers good body and medium acidity. The gasolin aroma is especially strong in the mouth. Really an outstanding wine, not so expensive for what you get. However I am not sure how further it can be aged, the fruit (even though delicious) is no more fresh and acidity has lost some vigour. I would drink it in the next 3 or 4 years.

Started slow but burst open an hour after being opened. Tropical, rich and zesty with acidity so intense I can recall it precisely a day later. This is why you age German Riesling.
