There is something about this wine that amazes me. The tannins are now velvety; the fruits is starting to fade a bit; the acid is just right to balance the somewhat fatty charcoal grilled ground chuck that we had with it. But the fruit is very distinctive in my experience. Yes, I get the Cab and the Merlot, but there's still something different there that I have trouble identifying. It was in the first bottle of the case when I opened it years ago, and it's still there and I like it a lot.
Well cellared, solid cork, no sediment, no brown edge in the glass. Just well and successfully aged. Needs no breathing time.

Big wine with a lot of tannins left. Copious floral and dried herb aromas followed by unctuous, brawny and still bright dark fruit flavors, cassis, red currants and a dash of tobacco and oak.

No detailed notes. Good, not great. Relatively linear. Decent flavor profile from start to (shy) finish, but no evolution, no complexity, no finish. This tastes like a glass pour at a decent, not great, wine bar. Doesn't show a lot of favorable evolution for a 10 year old wine.

Maroon with some brickish tones. Violets, plums, and leather nose. Medium bodied, blackberries, sage, black cherries, slightly woody tannins, tobacco, good acid, and a long dark fruit finish. Excellent.

Black fruit forward with leather and tea leaves. Forward nose, easy to enjoy. Tannins have smoothed out. Drink now, should hold for another 3 to 7.
