Perhaps it is past its prime... very meh on this. In fact, I think I'm going to hold off getting Burrell School for a long while. They need alot of work.

Gobs of tart red fruit, front and mid palate saturation, but falls off on the back end. There's some heat to this wine, as with all of the Burrell School wines, that lends itself to a cloying feeling in the mouth. Medium body, very little tannin.
I purchased this CF when I was still casting a wide net in tasting the varietal; but since then I've settled on the likes of Viader, Ehlers, Terra Valentine, and Pride. Not a bad showing for a Santa Cruz AVA, though, for being 6 years old already.
Slightly pricey for what it is, but I can see popping a bottle to go along with that post-Thanksgiving turkey sandwich.

Burrell School is consistently fruity, and consistently slow to open up.
