The last of four and by far the best. All the usual Crawford River traits plus a hint of saffron. A magical wine, no longer limes, lemons, slate and talc, instead so much more but still fresh and vivacious 19.5.

Luminous pale primrose colour. Nose is reticent at first but builds, quite muscular at 13% abv but not obviously. Manages to retain the restrained mineral focused elegance of Crawford River Riesling at the abv level and has a finish for the ages. Wonderful wine and three to go. 19

Under Argon spritz. Aromas of kerosene, cream, slight lime, white pepper and slight toast and honey. In the mouth the wine is quite tart with lime over lemon flavours, slight spice and a kind of closed, dryness to the back of the palate...touches of sulphur perhaps.

Dinner with JonnyG, again: Hints at kerosene, plus lime, slate and apple. Medium weight, good acidity. This is starting to come into its own, while still having potential to improve over the next 5-10 years.

Ridgy-Didge Riesling Tasting 2018 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Kerosene, slight lime curd; almost key lime pie. Tight on the plate though, that kerosene, chalky grip, bone dry. <shrugs>
