Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Has come around nicely. Dark fruited with sous bois notes, good depth and complexity and in a good drinking spot. Gone are the warm and ripe impressions from its youth.

  • I bought this bottle to check what a good grower could do with a simple wine in a hot vintage. Consumed over 4 days. The first 2 days, this reminded me more of a Cotes du Rhone than a Burgundy. Ripe cherry fruit with a somewhat baked quality. Spicy. Quite tannic as well, surprsing for a 6 year old Bourgogne. Lacks freshness and acidity. On day four, much better than the first 2 days and showing more pinot characteristics without impressing too much. A bit of earthy flavors and a tad dry on the back palate.
