  • Surprisingly deep red and plenty of richness on nose. I had hoped that after 28 years this would have softened and shown some elegance. The back label stresses its elegance but it was all a bit too chunky, four square and almost sickly in flavour. Plenty of raisiny slightly volatile fruit but with no charm. Impressive with what is left after this period of time but not very enjoyable.

  • Very nice. Had blue cheese and dates. Very good combination.

  • Gave to LL to taste and review - This 15 year old Chianti was about as I expected. The nose revealed a faded Chianti bouquet, the fruit having passed many years ago. The color was surprisingly solid red through, with only slight fading on the rim - the color belies it's age. The palate was tired, with a lack of fruit and an attenuated finish. Drinkable, but better used in a spaghetti sause! Move to kitchen.
