  • Had a back-up ready to go, but no need as this was nice. Golden yellow. A little white/melon fruit with some caramel and mineral on the nose. Light weight fruit and some butterscotch with zippy acidity and mineral on palate. Was great with seared petrale. Next night was all acidity/tart.

  • Most would call this over the hill, but I'm happy with it. Deep gold. Golden honey, Bengay, ash, rainwater nose. Rich lift in the mouth, a touch of coffee and caramel, and wonderful acids. Blind I would most definitely vote premier cru Chablis.

With a couple of superb Herve Mons cheeses (Gabietou and Tomette du Tarn).

With air some of the older toffied elements leaned out and the wine stood up a bit.
