  • Its a wonderful thing to come across an aged White Burgundy like this. Fully mature but still retaining a certain freshness which at thirty years of age is a testament to the wines and producers ability. When I stumbled across this I thought it might be stuffed but at forty bucks was worth a punt. A slightly saline/brine character forms part of the makeup. A pleasant toasty nuttiness continues the flavour profile which rounds out to a very balanced and classy finish. One of those wines which is so enjoyable it doesn't really matter the status or cru. In my experience this Domaine rarely makes a bad wine.

  • Bordeaux 1989 (and the rest...) @ Peter V. (Netherlands): Nuts..., all over the place. Macadamia's, hazelnuts, almond paste, pine kernels. Do I sense a kind of botrytis-like pepperiness? Very complex and surprising wine from a pristine bottle. 18.5/20
