The wine opened-up nicely after one hour in the decanter. It offered sweet red fruit, cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, chocolate, coffee, spices and vanilla on the oak-influenced nose. On the palate the wine showed sweet red fruit, cherry, raspberry, blackberry, coffee, spices and vanilla, paired with medium-level to high acidity and supple tannins. A modern, creamy, oak-influenced style. Not complex by any stretch of imagination, but solid and easy drinking. Would be a nice everyday wine at EUR 15, but at EUR 30 I am seriously concerned about the QPR.

Very youthful bluish colour. Light nose, similar to a Beaujolais - which is rather surprising considering this wine's style - but with a toasty, smoky background. Chewy, jammy, sexy wine - lots of life and energy in this. However, not terribly complex, and less sophisticated than the famous 2001, 2004 and 2005 vintages, but a very well made wine nonetheless.

As my previous note. If you like Ribera del Duero, this wine always is a good choice. Not an outstanding drink but always gives the minimum that you're looking for.

Etwas erdig und verhalten in der Nase. Leicht bitter. Bret und leicht flüchtiger Kork. Braucht Luft.
