Port style (fortified) but definitely not port. Malbec with a wine spirit, that is as good, if not better, than the style associated with the port on the Douro river. Dark red, long syrupy legs, loads of sugar. On the nose, you get the brandy punch, but in a pleasant way. In the mouth it really is up there with the top end Ports. A great end to the meal with a hot chocolate dessert, and after on its own. Love it.

Red port style from Malbec. Full dark maroon. Long slow legs. Candied red and black fruit nose, lots of licorice, slightly oxidized. Very full bodied, nice and sweet, super smooth, syrupy texture, long long finish. Red and black fruits on the palate as well, subsumed tannins, licorice, black plums. High quality! Tasted at the winery.

Zoom tasting, hosted by Auriol Wines, Hampshire, UK. This is made in the port style and, tasted blind, you'd think it was from Portugal. Brandy spirit added which explains the claimed 18.5% alcohol. Deep blackcurrant colour. Spicy nose, cloves, leather. Rich palate, warming. Very good.

Not excessively sweet with lots of sweet raisins. It tastes like an ordinary Port. Nice wine.
