  • Let me start by saying that I love older wine. I love their unique flavors unfindable in the food world. If you want to experience pure and unique flavors ...... then try older wine. Old world (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German over 50 years old, Cali Cabernets over 30 years, New world Pinot's over 15 years etc.... pick your fruit and country. Simply worth trying.

Still singing at 21 years this Pinot Noir is solid. Mostly secondary notes with metal, iron, roasted coffee and charcoal dominating. Acidity is a little out of whack with the acidity dominating over the almost unfindable fruit. Cherry kirsch was all I got with a liquor dominant flavor.

Creamy texture makes this THE BOMB.

  • Wonderful mature pinot with turkey on Thanksgiving. Dark red with no sign of bricking. Aroma a mixture of California fruit and Burgundian earth and leather. My notes from 10 years ago describe the wine as almost jammy and plummy. That forward fruit has disappeared and the Burgundian traits take center stage. Good spice, with earth and leather. Body of a California wine with the secondary characteristics of a rich Gevrey. Long finish. Mature but seems like it could hold for several years, as long as you are looking for the secondary flavors, not the typical California fruitiness. Wish I had more.

  • - Ruby color - This is a beautiful pinot with finely crystallized lees. Nose opened up especially after some breathing. Drinking nicely now.

  • Very good with nice fruit that is, it seems, starting to fade. Time to drink up.

  • Drinking well, but can see the heart of the wine is fading. Nose is a bit faded from my memory of the wine much younger, but still showing notes of raspberry and blackberry. A touch of green in it, but did not detract overly from a lovely wine that has held up better than I would have expected.
