shared with pat at selkirk manor. i had held onto this bottle for sentimental reasons due to the romantic life story of the proprietors. was also waiting for recent feedback from others which was not forthcoming. finally decided to open this bottle for fear that waiting any longer might find the wine over the hill. this bottle had moved along in its development since last tasted 7/2015. yet, it still showed a charming and classy profile. i agree with those who suggest oyster pairing as this has chablis like characteristics. too bad i did not remember this before opening. color somewhat golden. but, the wine is still fresh, showing citrus, lemon and minerality. full in the mouth. satisfying finish. this is probably at peak and will not improve further. drink up. will seek out current vintage.

first wine of the day on the thanksgiving table at selkirk manor. shared with pat, ellen, giulio and grandpa. served with cantaloupe and prosciutto. exceedingly crisp. perhaps served too cold and too fast to enjoy the fruit. i guess i would agree with others than lemon and lime predominate. tart acid suggests this wine will continue to be drinkable for another year or two. must remember to serve with oysters or other shellfish as this would be the ideal pairing.

Grande bottiglia. Da berne a secchi.
