A private dinner (Restaurant Schloss Schauenstein ***, Fürstenau, Switzerland): Rich colour; the nose is a bit of a puzzle, it evokes a big wine but it is not charming or fragrant, there is herby oak but it almost seems a bit hollow and is certainly uncommunicative; true to the house style the palate is braod and ripe, with rich fruit of creamy lemon and almost salty minerality and excellent intensity, ripe acidity, seems a bit dull and unwieldy; very good length. My score is conservative - I have the feeling that this bottle was less than perfect.

An incredible wine. Prieur's interpretation of Les Combettes is unique: a very precise, mineral nose that would not lead you to Les Combettes or even a PM 1er, yet on the palate this wine was ample, round. It was more mineral than fat, and has a lovely acidic backbone to it. It is one of those wines that stains your palate with its very long finish. At 14.5% it is extremely powerful. Well done Jacques Prieur!

Brotytical sauterne and fruity nose! Just a Wow for a first impression. After that, with a silex feeling. Lemon and argume in the mouth. Is that really a dry wine? 7?40 in wine by one paris for 3ml. Correct acidity. And Worth the price!
